Discussion of what culture is (entry task) looked at setting the stage p. 5 in text and began movie: "Return of the Iceman" with questions to answer as they watch. Began class with Declaration of Independance short film and discussed why we began with it. Discussion of the Civil War by breaking kids into groups to cover sections of chp. 2 and 3. spent 15 minutes and shared findings with the class in a visual timeline display.
