Dear Lake Roosevelt Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

I am very happy and honored to be able to continue as the School Counselor at Lake Roosevelt for the 2009-10 academic year. It is exciting and rewarding to realize the progress our students are making as they continue to earn credits toward graduation. This Fall, many of our graduates are on their way to college and new jobs. We will miss them, but continue to wish them all success and happiness as they pursue their goals.

At Lake Roosevelt we have a team of dedicated professionals who strive to support our students’ success. Our Principal, Mr. Breeze, has served our students and community for many years. As the building administrator, he leads, supports, and coordinates the work of our teachers and aides so that classroom goals can be met. Most of our staff have been at LR for many years and understand our students well. They develop daily and long range lesson plans that provide the information and skills that help students progress toward graduation. The staff in our library provides a wide array of educational services that help students plan for and realize their educational goals. They help our students connect their high school plan with future vocational and career goals. Our coaches help students prepare for the challenges and fun of their selected athletic programs and competitions. Everyone loves seeing our raiders play with PRIDE throughout the school year!!

Many others help our high school run smoothly. Our bus drivers get on the road early in the morning and safely transport our students to school even in bad weather. The administrative support staff makes sure that phone calls are answered, information shared in a timely way, and that school records are accurate and up to date. Our maintenance staff keeps our building clean, safe, and in good repair. Our cooks, and servers, some of whom are student helpers, provide balanced and nutritious breakfasts and lunches every school day. In addition, many community members and parents dedicate time and talent to make enjoyable and beneficial things happen for our students. Together as a whole hearted and coordinated team we work with and for our students for their personal and educational success. We want every student to be safe and peaceful at school. There is a lot they can accomplish with their many diverse talents and abilities.

LR is an amazing high school because of our amazing students. We all want to see them succeed and fulfill their plans for now and the future. When you have questions or concerns about ways to help students, please call or come to the school for a visit.
